On the election of Barack Obama as President

Last night, as I watched the election results come in and then saw Barack Obama take the stage as the next President of the United States, I knew I was watching a historic event as monumental as the attacks on September 11–but this time an event of overwhelming happiness and unity. It was inspiring to see so many Americans coming together, despite our differences, in joy and hope for our future and a belief in our power to change. Yes, we can. Yes, we did.
