I’ve aggravated my wife on more than one occasion by doubting whether I have free will. Of course, I believe in free will. But “believe” is the operative word, since it amounts to an article of faith in my otherwise low-faith lifestyle.

Moreover, I feel as though I can’t trust my own memories since it’s this foggy, distant mash-up of experience which I reverse-engineer meaning for. Still, like you, I gotta have my free-will fix because I know no other way of retaining my hope.
